You are invited to exchange your ideologies for an original work of art. This artwork is relational and therefore requires your participation. This work consists of a signed limited edition of 100 empty cardboard boxes printed with the word Ideology. This work is intended as a critique of a commercially driven art market and provides the means for alternative exchanges to be made. The boxes will be available in exchange for a token of your ideology agreed between you and the artist to be of an equivalent value to the boxes, any sincere offer will be considered. The names of the 100 people to acquire the boxes and details of the exchanges made will be listed in a book, which will be the final realisation of the work. The work will be complete once all the boxes have been exchanged. Only when the work has been completely consumed by the art market, can the final value of the work be assessed. There is the potential here for a real investment in the art market. The value of your contributions will determine the nature and final value of the work. By participating in this work you are no only the art audience but collector, critic and, to some extent, creator.
