Example of call out:
Live Art Falmouth are looking for volunteers to help run this two day event. This is a great opportunity for people from different walks of life to come together and work towards a common goal.

Volunteers are needed to:

  • Collect posters and fliers and help distribute locally and nationally if you can in any way possible Promote the event from the street/town during the event Document the event through photography and video
  • Help to prepare the space- painting walls white, filling holes in the walls, putting up the blackout
  • Assist with the set up and take down of artist's work and/or the equipment for the performances
  • Helping with the installation and wiring up of different forms of media- skills with AV equipment, such as computers, amps/sound equipment and projector’s would be handy!
  • Hands on help with shifting, lifting, moving furniture/ladders etc, putting up projector shelves. Help with, for example, the construction and set-up of free standing screens, enclosed spaces and general help
  • Assist artists- being able to source/buy things for the artists during the set-up
  • Invigilate the spaces, welcoming the audience and also keeping an eye on equipment
  • Prepare and serve drinks at the bar area at the private view and perhaps during the event
  • Help clearing up the event once the event has finished
  • Write critical discourse and articles about the artworks and event as a whole

Through your help you will have the opportunity to gain an invaluable insight into the running of a large 'live' event, to broaden your skills in working with others, become part of artistic culture, meet national and international artists as well as peers and most importantly enjoy yourself whilst doing it. Everyone can get involved in their own way, depending on their interests. So, if you would like to contribute your skills, experience and/or simply give us your enthusiasm and as much or as little of your time as you can for the event then please feel free to get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
